Bio
Ottavio Barbieri was born in Brescia in 1970 and he started playing piano and keyboards as a self-taught. Since 1987 he begins a long and productive live path as a keyboard player which brings him to explore different experiences with a lot of bands in numerous fields, like pop, rock, soul, jazz, blues, funk and R&B and also brings him to collaborate with significant people of local but also non-local musical scene. Since 1996, besides the following of the live activity, he also works as a composer, arranger and keyboard player in studio, mostly concentrating himself into projects which concern pre-production, musical production and video scoring but also short films, cd-rom and web projects developed for brands and theatrical companies, with a particular eye also for editing features and sound design. Since 1998 he focuses his work also on the activity of teaching (modern piano, harmony and improvisation) in several musical academies and he also organizes periodically workshops based on preparatory music and ensemble music, starting to give lessons even on online platforms. In 2001, he graduates as sound engineer at SAE Technology College in Milan. Since 2014 he runs several labs and workshops about music, rhythm and their use in the dance field, at AED (Acedemie Europeenne De Danse Jazz), placed in Brescia. In 2016 he takes part in the developing and recording of ‘’Childhood’’, a CD by the soul singer Carolina (at OSB Studio - Florence). Since 2018, he collaborates with the international collective Mann Friday, composed by musicians from Australia, New Zealand, Ibiza and Zimbabwe, with whom he participated into the recordings of the CD ‘’Bridgenorth RD’’ (realized at Kore Studios in London), and in addition he took part with the band in several concerts, placed in London, Dublin, Cape Town and Johannesburg (South Africa), Harare (Zimbabwe). From 2018 to 2019 he also collaborated with the singer-songwriter Riccardo Maffoni. In 2020 the release of the album "Places And Things".
